Santa Margherita Fish Market

To witness an authentic slice of local Santa Margherita life, wander down to the pescheria (fish market) at the edge of the harbour around 6pm and join the crowd awaiting the arrival of the port’s fishing fleet.

One by one the boats sail in, a small dinghy dispatches the day’s catch to the quayside and the market comes alive with the freshest fish imaginable - bright red prawns, baby octopuses, red mullet and snapping lobsters.
