The promontory of Portofino is a National Park of great natural beauty, a paradise for walkers, hikers and picnickers. Ancient walking paths lead through olive groves and vineyards up to chestnut forests, which have served the local inhabitants for hundreds of years.
Principal paths are well maintained and marked with red symbols. Intersections are clearly signposted and large maps show the overall network of the trails. Enjoy dreamy, romantic walks along the breathtaking coastline and through the tumbling, tropical gardens down to the lively harbour.
Our Concierge can recommend a variety of itineraries that begin with a short walk from the hotel into Portofino, ranging from an hour-long walk to excursions that fill the whole day. All may be done in tennis or running shoes. The walks are extracted from the book, The Walker in Portofino, by Malcolm Spector, a small guide exclusively available to guests of Hotel Splendido.
